Dota2 and Steam

I dont know if you will have to have steam, just like TeamFortress2, where you MUST have installed steam and logged in to steam in order to play it.
Maybe Dota2 will be the same, maybe not.
i rather look at dota2 like a game where you can play without even having steam in your pc because of this:

I think it wont need steam and it would suck if it needed cause I agree with you about the adds the games and start up

Like i said before, all of Valve's online multiplayer games use steam, so i'm guessing Dota 2 will work the same way (through Steam).

^ You need Steam to play the official Counter Strike Source online.

If your CSS doesn't, it's a pirate copy. Im 100% sure.

True but cs 1.6 and and 1.5 do not use steam

Im pretty sure that's not true, because 1.6 has VAC (anti cheating engine) and VAC works through Steam.

pirate or not...it doesn't matter
i think you play at private server / not official server

@Steam
...if its valve it has big chance to use steam......

Like a other valve game u always have steam and non-steam game!
