 |  Subject: Dota 2 console | |
| Hello! I've been trying to get my console to work all evening. I have set the console to launch when i start dota2,but I can't seem to get it to open after that. I am not using an english keyboard,so I have tried rebinding the key to open the console with the command:bind ''key'' toggleconsole. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? |

| Sadly, no. Would be kinda awesome playing at a ps3 though. I was talking about the ingame console. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Or did I really explain my problem that bad? |

| well yeah mate you didnt say us what exactly console you are talking about.In start i though that you were talking about cmd...But with the secon though i was like...Does he want to run Dota 2 by console..Prolly no.Ps3?Again no..And i just didnt replied re explain us and we will help  |

| OK. Let me try again. By right clicking Dota 2 in steam choosing properties and then fiddling around to put -console in launch options you can enable a console, like the one in Skyrim or Counter-Strike for example. The purpose of this is that you can enter commands to change different things in game. For example, denying with a simple right-click instead of a-clicking. I can't open the console while in a match, because my keyboard doesn't have the button that normally toggles the console.
I thought that someone here might now, but you guys seems to know less than me:-P.
I am writing this on my phone, so typing long texts brings great pain to my thumbs. |

| ^Well, if you didn't say Skyrim I would've really thought it is PS3. I only learnt the term console about a month or two ago.
So what is it that you wanna do with the console? |

after that the console HAS to open on dota 2 at the time you launch the game.To change your hotkey type on console (bind "hotkey" toggleconsole)
That worked for me. |

That was exactly what I did but nothing happened. When you changed the hotkey, did you get some type of message? Like, key bound successfully or something?
I am not at home right now, but I will try it again later. Thanks. |

No you dont get any message.Normally it should launch the console on start...I mean its the launching options.If that dont work and want the console that badly you can try reinstall the game |
