Not My Best Work!
"Whenever we make a significant mistake, we spend a bunch of time looking at what happened, why it happened, and how we can fix it. Most of the time we do this privately, but in our recent mistake around Diretide, we felt sharing our analysis with you made sense.
First, what happened – we didn’t ship a Diretide event this year, and you were rightly upset about it. That was clearly a mistake, and then we compounded the problem by not telling you what was going on.
So, why didn’t we ship Diretide?
> We have a huge update in the works that looked like it would be finished in time for Halloween. Stopping that update to work on Diretide seemed like something you would actually be unhappy with us for, because the update is pretty significant. More on that later.
> Turning on last year’s Diretide event wasn’t trivial. We’d done a year of work on the game which had changed our codebase, UI, and other systems enough that we would need to do some work to resurrect it.
> We underestimated how much you wanted Diretide.
> We made the decision a while ago, and failed to employ our usual process of regularly asking ourselves whether we were still on the right track. There were a bunch of people on the Dota 2 team who poked at the decision to not do it as Halloween approached, but due to how busy everyone was with our next major update, no-one really took the time to step back and objectively realise we were being collectively crazy.
Due to our poor prediction of your reaction, and the team being focused on the next update, we didn’t spend enough time thinking about talking to you about our decision. As a result, by the time we’d realized we’d made a bad decision, …

|N-Gage.tv League Open Beta Now Live!|
A lot of requests had been made from the Dota 2 Community, that we need something different then the frustrating Valve MM, that we need something like what dota-league was in the old days back in Dota 1. Pushed by this wish we spent nights and days to create such a system which can be accepted by the community. But we were not just creating this on our own, no, we collected opinions through our closed beta events: We made 3 closed beta-events overall: 1 was official, where everybody could sign in, with 60 people participating, 2 were unofficial with 20 people each.
Through your support and effort we could create something which will revolutionize the Dota 2 Matchmaking as we know it today. Now - when we finally launch the open beta - our work is still not finished, it is still possible that bugs you can encounter bugs. So please, when you find any bugs, don't hesitate to contact us through our forums or directly through skype.
We wanted to build up a community not just with high quality games, but also with a mannered atmosphere and - what's probably the most important point - a competitive mindset. We aligned the complete league-system in that direction and now we want to present to you the next level of Dota 2 Matchmaking:
We have 6 leagues (Qualifying(ap), Bronze(+rd, sd, ar), Silver(+cm), Gold, Platinum, Diamond) for matchmaking, each of them has 5 sub-leagues (except Qualifying and Diamond), to provide balanced games. You can queue single or dual with a friend, stacking is not possible. Your Dotabuff-Rating determines on which league you start, but don't worry, even if you start in the …

|Sunday promotion - New D2P project - Promote your Dota 2 videos over our Youtube channel!|
It's hard to get noticed in this world, and it's even more frustrating to get some feedback when you are sure that you are doing a quality work. We are here to help you out with that. We are here to give you the space to promote your projects and get your own audience without going through the painful road - completely for free.
Our Youtube channel has over 30,000 subscribers and over 2,000,000 views. We can safely say that we have a pretty big channel, with an awesome community behind it that helps us evolve and expand on a daily basis. At the same time, they will help you out if you give them a chance.
So what's this all about?
The goal of this project is to promote your Youtube channel, your Youtube videos and of course, your work. If you think you have a nice show that could entertain people, but don't have the ways and ideas of promoting and advertising your stuff, we will help you out with that!
From now on, you will be able to submit your video(s) to our e-mail address and we will upload them to our channel, show them to our community and hopefully drive some traffic to you. In other words, you will use our numbers to promote your work.
It's completely up to you whether you want us to upload one or two or ten of your videos; if they have a visible quality, we won't hesitate helping you out in any way we can. So, if you wish to join this project, it's open from now on. All you have to do is following:
1. Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with the following subject - Youtube Promotion
2. Give us the link to your Youtube video and write down the video title, video description and video tags.
Once we receive …
